〜にしたところで / 〜としたところで

Meaning

even (from the standpoint of) …; even if …

〜にしたところで takes a person or a case as an example and says "even from their standpoint, the (negative) conclusion is the same": 私にしたところで、いい案があるわけではない (even I have no good idea). 〜としたところで works with clauses: 今出発したとしたところで間に合わない (even if we left now, we would not make it).

Both speech and writing, somewhat formal. The second half is negative or pessimistic. The subject is often the speaker (私にしたところで) or an authority (専門家にしたところで) to show that nobody is exempt.
