Meaning

"intend to ~ / plan to ~".

Dictionary form + つもりです means "I intend to / I plan to": 留学するつもりです "I plan to study abroad". For a negative plan use ない-form + つもりです: 帰らないつもりです "I don't plan to go back". つもり is a noun, so the verb before it must be in plain form. It expresses a plan you have already decided on.

Talking about future plans: next year, the holidays, after graduation. Asking 何をするつもりですか is fine with friends; for superiors use ご予定.
