Meaning
other than …; apart from … (there is nobody / nothing)
〜をおいて(ほかに) + negative means "apart from X, there is no one / nothing": この役は彼女をおいてほかにいない (nobody but her can play this role). It is a strong statement that X is the only suitable candidate, and it usually praises X.
Formal speech and writing: recommendations, speeches, reviews. Used to say that X is uniquely qualified. The sentence ends in a negative such as いない・ない・考えられない.
