Meaning
like …; as if …; such as (classical よう)
ごとし is the classical equivalent of ようだ. ごとく works like ように (adverb: "like X, do…"), ごとき like ような (modifier: "an X-like N"), and ごとし ends a sentence ("is like X"). Nごとき used of a person belittles them: 私ごとき is humble ("a mere me"), あいつごとき is contemptuous.
Literary writing, proverbs, speeches, and set phrases (光陰矢のごとし). In conversation ようだ / みたいだ replace it, except for the humble 私ごとき.
