〜ともあろう: "Someone of the stature of": criticism that a person of that status behaved badly.
From the 〜ともあろう lesson
〜たる(もの): "One who is X" stating what someone in that position should do (教師たる者、常に学ぶべきだ). ともあろう is used when they failed to live up to it.
