〜次第で(は) / 〜次第だ means "depending on…, it all depends on…". The noun before it is the deciding factor: success depends on effort; depending on the weather, the match may be postponed; I'll decide depending on the price.

Both registers, slightly formal. N + 次第で connects to a clause; N + 次第だ ends the sentence ("it depends on N"). 次第では (with は) means "in some cases, depending on N" and is followed by a possibility (〜かもしれない・〜こともある).
