Formation
V／い-adj plain + んです　；　な-adj + なんです　；　Noun + なんです

  1. 明日はパーティーに行きません。用事があるんです。

    あしたは パーティーに いきません。ようじが あるんです。

    I'm not going to the party tomorrow. I have something to do.

  2. A：どうしたんですか。　B：頭が痛いんです。

    どうしたんですか。　あたまが いたいんです。

    What's the matter? — I have a headache.
