Meaning
I'm glad that… / I'm glad I didn't… (relief or satisfaction about what happened)
〜てよかった says you are glad something happened: 日本語を勉強してよかった "I'm glad I studied Japanese". 〜なくてよかった is relief that something did not happen: 事故に遭わなくてよかった "I'm glad you weren't in an accident". Unlike 〜ばよかった (regret), the event is real.
