Meaning
Could you please…? (polite request; いただけませんか is more polite)
〜てもらえませんか and 〜ていただけませんか both ask "could you do this for me?". They are built from もらう / いただく (receive a favour) in the potential form plus a negative question, which is the softest way to ask in Japanese. いただけませんか is the humble version for people you should be polite to.
Asking strangers, shop staff, teachers, colleagues and superiors for help. 〜ていただけないでしょうか is even softer and suits big favours. Among friends use 〜てくれない？ or 〜てもらえる？.
