Meaning
"become ~". Attaches to adjectives and nouns to express change.
なる means "become". To say something changes, attach it to an adjective or noun: い-adjective drops い and adds く (寒い → 寒くなる "get cold"); な-adjective and noun add に (静か → 静かになる "become quiet", 医者 → 医者になる "become a doctor"). いい is irregular: よくなる.
Weather changes, growing up, getting better or worse, a room becoming clean, a person becoming a doctor. Common with もう (already) and だんだん (gradually).
