JLPT N5 tips
On the exam
- The classic N5 trap is an い-adjective in the sentence with じゃありません as one option. Check the word before the blank: if it ends in い and is an い-adjective, the answer is くない/くありません.
- じゃありません and ではありません are both correct; the exam never asks you to choose between them. It asks you to choose between them and the wrong forms (高いじゃない, 静かくない).
