〜たら (conditional) "if / when / after": たら is the everyday "if / when". 場合は is more formal and presents a case, not a time sequence.

- Formation
Verb: た-form + ら: 食べたら, 行ったら, したら, 来たら (きたら); negative なかったらい-adjective: drop い + かったら: 高かったら, いい→よかったらな-adjective / Noun: + だったら: 静かだったら, 雨だったらもし〜たら emphasises "if"; the main clause can be any type (request, invitation, plan, discovery)

V-plain + 場合(は): 遅れる場合は, 遅れた場合は, 来ない場合はい-adjective + 場合: 熱が高い場合な-adjective + な場合: 不便な場合Noun + の場合: 雨の場合, 火事の場合は can be dropped: 雨の場合、中止です
