Meaning

without, leaving out, minus

〜抜きで means "without X" in the sense of deliberately leaving X out: わさび抜き (no wasabi), 冗談抜きで (joking aside), 仕事の話は抜きにして (leaving work talk aside). It comes from 抜く (to remove). 〜抜きでは〜ない means "impossible without X".

Everyday speech and writing. Very common when ordering food (〜抜きで), and in set phrases like 冗談抜きで / 遠慮抜きで / 前置き抜きで. 〜は抜きにして is a natural way to steer a conversation.
