Strategy notes: read these before the passage

Self-introductions follow a fixed order: name, country, age, occupation, hobbies, likes.
まだ〜じゃありません = not yet. Statements about ability are often negative here.
ちょっと… after a food means the speaker does not like it. Read the unfinished sentence as a soft 'no'.

Passage

はじめまして。わたしはマリアです。ブラジルから来（き）ました。二十二歳（にじゅうにさい）です。

今（いま）、日本（にほん）の大学（だいがく）で日本語（にほんご）を勉強（べんきょう）しています。日本語（にほんご）はまだ上手（じょうず）じゃありません。

しゅみは料理（りょうり）とサッカーです。よくブラジル料理（りょうり）を作（つく）ります。週末（しゅうまつ）はよく友達（ともだち）とサッカーをします。

日本（にほん）の食（た）べ物（もの）では、おすしがいちばん好（す）きです。でも、なっとうはちょっと…。
