Formation
V-て + 以来N + 以来 (あの事故以来, 卒業以来)

  1. 卒業して以来、彼に会っていない。

    そつぎょうしていらい、かれにあっていない。

    I haven't seen him since we graduated.

  2. 日本に来て以来、ずっとこの町に住んでいる。

    にほんにきていらい、ずっとこのまちにすんでいる。

    Ever since I came to Japan, I've lived in this town.

Meaning

Formation
(1) Noun + きり / っきり (二人きり, 一人っきり, これっきり)(2) Verb た-form + きり + negative (行ったきり戻らない)(3) Set forms: 寝たきり, つきっきり, 〜きりだ

  1. 今日は二人きりで話したい。

    きょうはふたりきりではなしたい。

    I want to talk with just the two of us today.

  2. 彼は出かけたきり、まだ帰ってこない。

    かれはでかけたきり、まだかえってこない。
