Strategy notes: read these before the passage

Family passages test who does what. Draw a quick table: 父 = bank, 母 = teacher, 兄 = university...
Count the family carefully: 五人 includes the writer (わたし).
Note the difference between 妹 (younger sister) and 姉 (older sister), 兄 (older brother) and 弟 (younger brother).

Passage

わたしの家族（かぞく）は五人（ごにん）です。父（ちち）と母（はは）と兄（あに）と妹（いもうと）とわたしです。

父は銀行（ぎんこう）で働（はたら）いています。母は先生（せんせい）です。小学校（しょうがっこう）で英語（えいご）を教（おし）えています。兄は大学生（だいがくせい）で、東京（とうきょう）に住（す）んでいます。妹は十歳（じゅっさい）で、犬（いぬ）が好（す）きです。

わたしたちは犬を一匹（いっぴき）飼（か）っています。名前（なまえ）はポチです。日曜日（にちようび）はみんなで公園（こうえん）へ行（い）きます。
